Glad you are OK, Joe. All in the area are in our thoughts. Will check in as often as possible. Hope to hear from Donnie and Capt. Caveman soon. Be safe folks.

    Default Joplin, MO tornado

Our heart goes out to those in the Joplin area after a massive tornado ripped through the center of town early yesterday evening. My wife's cousin is commander of FEMA Missouri and I'm sure we'll be hearing some stories.

We are all ok here! Thanks for thinking of us. Please keep the people of Joplin in your prayers.

It looks and is a terrible mess over there.
Prayers to all who suffered loss in that.
The tornado went about 10 miles south of me. The sirens were going off and I had a cooker full of meat.
I just watched the tv to see which way it was headed and stayed with the meat.

It was a terrible tornado rated at EF4 to sporatic EF5 which puts the winds from 190 mph to around 200 mph .. think of it as an inland hurricane with an attitude.

And to add insult to injury the weather is still making things rough in that area. They had hail and strong storms today. There was even a law enforcement person directing traffic at a big intersection and was struck by lightning.

The media is eating this storm up as it is the worst in MO history, worst in 60+ years in the US and the weather just won't stop.

While we all want to keep informed as to the developments there, IMHO, their exploitation of the suffering of the victims is disgusting.
