    Exclamation Grand Lake Menu

I thought about bringing some Hmong sausage w/ Mae Ploy sweet pepper sauce. thought I might bring a nice Piece'O'Beef. At first, I thought of brisket, but then I think prime rib is cheaper these days.

Maybe some lamb fries or crappie?

What do you want to bring, or what would you like to see cooked?

While I won't be attending unless I hit the Powerball, I can highly recommend this dish as a great way to use up leftover Q and make an extremely hearty meal. Think of it like Brazilian chili. Hard to make a small batch, and great for feeding a crowd.

I've been kind of mulling over what I'm bringing and nothing is popping just yet. I will most likely bring the shrimp and bacon that I was telling you about, but for the other stuff I haven't decided ... except I ain't bringing the chicken

Thinkin about something for a desert also

Since this group wasn't at the Valpo event I'll probably bring my little smoked beef appetizer balls and then smoke some Sate' style pork steaks with peanut butter sauce. I'm sure I'll think of a couple of other tidbits to bring as well.

How does this whole thing usually work? I remember reading something maybe from last year that the group usually does ribs on Friday evening. Is it going to be the same this year? How/what do you do the rest of the time. I'm guessing it will be more casual this year without the band and without cooking for the whole campground.

I've got a couple of abt recipes that I'll plan on making. I'm sure I'll contribute some ribs on Friday if we do that. Should I just plan on bringing whatever then borrowing some room in a smoker to get 'er done?

We can most certainly do ribs - it has been a "tradition" since we've been doing the gatherings, but not required. If you wanna do some ribs we'll do some ribs.

My smoker will be available any time it's not in use ... you're welcome to use it and I'm sure the same offer will be there from others ... so smoker space won't be any problem.

Saturday is usually like an all day picnic with stuff coming out of smokers all day long - food, snacks, "things you just gotta try" N stuff.

We haven't made any plans for a theme type meal for Saturday evening like last year (the boil).

Ok, that helps. I'll go ahead and plan on bringing some ribs for Friday night. I figure we'll get camp set up, secure a spot for the boat at the campground then come meet everyone. It will be good to put a few more names with faces. Hopefully I can remember some of the ones I've already met too!
