    Default My campfire grill

Thought I'd post a pic of the campfire grill I made a few years back. Last year I added a small boat winch and cable to adjust the grill height. Works great and turns a lot of heads!

Found another pic that had the mod when I added the boat winch and cable. Makes for infinite height adjustment, and not burnt fingers!

I'd like to have one just for the house. Love it! Great job on the build and THANKS for sharing I hope it inspires someone else to build one.

My father in law used to cook on one of those all the time he had a nickname for it that I can't repeat here. It was made from an old highway sign tripod. He had small chain that suspended it and then went through a pulley and down the leg where he had a spur welded on to hook the chain at the appropriate length. As I recall, it worked great, but I don;t think it was nearly as sophisticated as yours.

Looks like it would be great to hang a pot on too.
