    Funny thing is, I don't use it anymore. I have a Taylor 12" deep fry thermo run through a bolt to get the center grate temp. The Tetru looks better though. Wish they made that one with a longer stem.

    The paint job was a little over 2 years ago. It doesn't look quite that clean anymore. Plus my daughter shot it with a bit of spray paint.

    Tel Tru makes as long a stemmed bimetal thermo as you want. go to their site and figure out what you want. The next time I order I'll get you one. For the record though, it may be a few months before I re order.

    BTW-I thin it takes balls to paint a smoker bright yellow.

    I saw some of the other thermos with long stems but could not find any of the Black Dial BQ300 model with anything over 4".

    No, the longest sten for a designated BBQ (BQprefix) is 4", so if oyu want black BQ, you got the longest.
