Leo's BBQ Oklahoma City, OK
Butt Lover's Mike, Bubblehead Jim, Cabinetmaker Curt and I all met up for lunch at Leo's on Kelly today. It was great to meet jim and see Mike. Curt and I car pooled from Tulsa and had a nice visit on the way over.
I think we all enjoyed the food. I have some comments, but curt was going to post the pix and Jim was going to post the main review.
For now, I'll just say that this place is the real deal.
Look for more in the next day or so form Curt and Jim as well as Mike.

I liked it and will go back.

My opinion, beans and tater salad was good. Brisket was only available chopped and was a tad dry. Ribs had a great bark but one of my 2 ribs was kinda overcooked and dry. Hot links were good, but the bologna was some of the best bologna I have had.
On a scale of 5 stars, I would give them 4. I would eat there often if they were in my area.........Prolly best they aren't.

Sounds like a cool get-together...any group pix?
At least you didn't scare Bubblehead back to Hawaii.

I'll save him the trouble. Here's me at the plant that packages the Rooster Booster products. We got the grand tour, and a few spice samples.

I'll have to agree with you on all aspects, everything had a real nice flavor, Both the ribs I had were great. They had a decent amount of resistance when you bit into them but not tough by any means. The pulled pork was also great and had a nice flavorful bark. I really liked the hot link and the bologna was out of this world! The only thing I was slightly disappointed in was the brisket, I would've liked to had the option of getting it sliced but it was a tad dry so it's probably best chopped, nothing a little sauce wouldn't fix. Speaking of their sauces, The had a mild(sweet) sauce and a "hot" sauce with a little more tang to it. I preferred the hot version but would up the heat if I were making it.
Overall it was some pretty darn good BBQ, if you ever find yourself in OKC be sure to give them a shot. Just make sure you call me first so I can go with you!
