    Default I'm Gettin Wood....

While Kelli was at BBQ Island in Tempe AZ, (my favorite store in the world!) she picked up a big bag of Pecan for me and a bag of Pistachio...
I'm intrigued by the pistachio...anyone ever used it?
Is it similar to other nut woods?

IDK, but I will anxiously await your review.... Sounds like a great thing to try with some pork steaks and chicken quarters, for some variety.

Not sure if it's sticks or chunks...I'm thinking chunks. We might be able to work something out.

Searched for "pistachio smoking wood" and got a couple of hits on the forums for smoking with undyed pistachio shells and another that mentions it while implying that it is not suitable for cooking , the same post advises also not using the shells the shells for smoke.
    .
This guy cooked a steak with it, but doesn't say anything about flavor-

He also provides a link to a site that sells sticks and chunks.

Please post a picture so we can see what pistachio wood looks like, thanks.
