    Default looking for info

    I am looking for info on useing apple, or cherry in a bry rub for beef ribs.

    First off is there a such thing as cherry powder or apple powder?
    second - where do I find it?
    Is it better in a hot sauce mix vs sweet?

    It would be mixed with, sugar, papreka, salt, peppercorn, onion, garlic, and maybe cinamon. Just something I have been thinking of.

    I would glaze the ribs with a sweet sauce, or a honey sauce.

    What do you guys think?

    Well I suppose that you could dehydrate the fruit then run it through a food processor and create a powder if you wanted.

    sugar free jello or koolaide is what I use. works for me.

    Hmmm, I could furnish you with some cherry saw dust if you want to try it.

    You can get fruit powders, but they are kind of pricey. Just Google Cherry powder or Apple powder. I've heard of folks using the Jello flavors as mentioned. Start off light and see what you think.

    Look here

    It is liquid that is designed to be used with sweeteners. You can treat sugar with it and then dehydrated it in the oven on low temp.

    They have a couple cherry flavors as well.

    My version of "Pig's Worst Nightmare"-

    I bought a small bag of dried Granny Smiths at the grocery, about 2.6 oz, this made about 10 TBS of apple dust/crumbs. I don't have a spice grinder so I beat the apples and then ran them thru the small electric chopper. Then I added 5TBS brown sugar, 5 TBS turbinado sugar, 1 TBS Kosher salt, 2 tsp paprika, 2 tsp ground cinnamon and 1 tsp black pepper.

    Have you ever tried their caramel apple chips?
