    Default Homemade pasta ideas

Got a crank pasta machine and daughter and I gave it a try last night. Made the typical 2 eggs, 2 C flour(AP), pinch of salt and some evoo. It was fun and very good.

I was try'n to think of a way to add more flavor to the flour, then serve w/just melted butter or evoo or something like that, light.

Has anyone tried to put, bbq rub, cajun rub/mix(like Tony C's), or maybe some cream and up the flour ratio?

Or maybe the taste could be in the boiling water?

Just wondered if any of you have tried different things or do you just add the flavor w/the sauce.

    Thanks, Turds.

I think with fresh pasta, you don't need to boil the crap out of it, I'd give it a quick boil, throw it in a sauce pan with some flavored oil and try it that way.
But, you can also do an alfredo sauce with a little cayenne.

Yep, we put in a couple handfulls in a roll'n boil and it took 2 min. That was nice.

Last night was w/some leftover sauce, and also tried w/just butter, s&p or season salt. The noodles reminded us of regular egg noodles, which we really like.

Also thought of maybe boil'n the noodles in something similar to a crawfish boil; lemon, garlic, cajun spice, liq crab boil, onions.

    Just look'n for something different.

Try some of your favorite hot sauce in the semolina mix. Liquid crab boil would probably work too. Herbs might cause the pasta to break, unless they are very finely ground.

I like to toss my pasta with some shrimp, evoo, garlic, lemon, canned artichoke hearts, CBP, peas, and broccolli. Quick and easy.
