Freeport Maine Buck's Naked BBQ
I had the pleasure of speaking with the owner, Alex this past summer when he had a question about his Backwoods Smoker. He told me about his restaurant and I promised to stop in when I was up his way.
Unfortunately, he wasn't in that day, but his manager Charles did a class A job of taking care of us and giving me the grand tour.

We weren't really hungry, so we told them we just wanted to try a little brisket and a few ribs.
Here's what we got

about 1/2 rack each of Baby backs and St Looies, along with a nice chunk'o'Dino bones. the collards were delicious, and I don;t even like collards.
Here are the few bites of burnt ends they sent out

Not what we generally think of as burnt ends, but rather 3 or 4 giant thick slabs of juicy tender delicious point end brisket bliss. I'm telling you, brisket doesn't get any better.
After we ate, Charles took me downstairs to see the smoker
They have a really nice Ole Hickory that they say runs pretty well full time

Downstairs on the end opposite the kitchen, they even have a man cave. I didn't go down to it though for fear I wouldn't make it back up after all the food that I had eaten.
Folks, atmosphere, decor, service and food we all top notch.
Anybody that thinks you can't get the real deal BBQ in Maine has never been here.
If you find yourself driving up I-95 around Freeport ME, you owe it to yourself to stop in and check them out.

Thanks for the review. I know Maine is beautiful this time of year, so maybe someday I'll get the Mrs to accompany me and we'll get to visit that place too!

Great review, Tim! Very nice look'n restaurant and food.

I'd eat there twice a week if they weren't so far from the house.

Sounds like you really enjoyed the place, what were the prices like and was the menu more extensive than ribs, brisket and pulled pork?
-
Very extensive menu, and very reasonable for what you got in our opinion. I think the rib deal was about $12 and the burnt ends about $10. don't quote me though. We have eaten several times since then. I can assure you this though, we didn't see anything on the menu that didn't seem very reasonable.
If you go, ask for Charles and tell him I sent you.
