    Default READ THIS- Last Flingers

Stockton State Park – Stockton Lake, Missouri
I think you will be fine without a reservation, but -
Info & to make on-line camping reservation -
    http://www.mostateparks.com/stockton/camp1.htm#
OR – You can do it over the phone –
1-877-422 6766 – Reservations – Have your credit card ready
READ THE FIREWOOD RESTRICTIONS!!!! No out of state firewood or wood from Wayne County, MO - because of Emerald Ash Borer

We will be in the WEST CAMPGROUND Jane & I have site 33 reserved

Directions to Stockton State Park – This is coming from the NORTH (KC area)
Driving Directions - Located in southwest Missouri, north of Springfield on Stockton Lake
Take U.S. Hwy.54 to El Dorado Springs. Turn south onto Hwy. 32* and travel to Stockton. At the four-way stop in Stockton, turn south onto Hwy. 39 and travel about four miles to Hwy. 215. Turn left at this intersection onto Hwy. 215 and travel east/southeast crossing Stockton Lake on the mile-long bridge. Hwy. 215 runs through the state park. *(Mike sez -Hwy. 32 is hilly, twisty, take it easy, you’ll get there)
There are small one room cabins available in the West Campground. There are nicer ones near the State Park Marina, a short distance from the West Campground.
MOTEL – Mt. Carmel Inn is close to the State Park. It is clean and comfortable, not schwanky. I have stayed there several times while fishing bass tournaments. Check it out and make reservations here-

If you need anything more send me a PM!!!
    SEE YOU THERE!!!

So we have a glitch. The Inn only has one room available and for some reason it's a 2 bedroom. Even though it's a "motel" I can't cancel. So unless there is a name chain motel close by we're out.

I'm not certain what your needs are for sleeping / comfort but I'm told that the camper cabins WILL be available and the shower house will be open.

If you take a room in town, it's a bit more of a drive than to the Mt. Carmel Inn. I don't know if the duplexs will be available. Call the office number to check on them. I'm sure they are pricey though.

There are no "name chain" motel/hotels anywhere close. There are nice duplex units available in the state park, also the little "camper cabins" in the West Campground, you have to call the reservation number. The duplex units have kitchen facilities. Like Joe said, a bit pricy.
What's wrong with the Mt. Carmel Inn room??? Sure would like to see y'all there. Check out their other motel in Stockton, it's not far away.

And all facilities will be available. They are turned off/shut down after the last day of Oct., except electricity at the camp sites and pit toilets.
That is why I did this the last weekend in October.

Wife is a stroke survivor. Cathy is not wheelchair bound but when she needs to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night she needs something close. She wears an electronic device to help her walk but she doesn't wear it at night while sleeping. She has no use of her right arm so she's a bit unstable especially if she's around uncertain territory.

We'll see if we can get something to work out.
