Great pix Dave! When I was in Sask last fall we came across a couple guys coming back from a moose hunt. They had both filled out their tags.

We talked with them for about an hour and their story was really cool, all the packing in and out and all!

    Where are you in Canadia?

So, tell us the story behind your big moose kill!

How big was it? What did you have to do to get to it...and haul it out?

I love a good hunting story.

    jeez a hunting story eh???....

well once upon a time......lol......hunting trip consisted of a 16hr drive in northern ontario.....6 guys 1 week.......moose was takin on our last day in camp.....moose was shot just before crossing a stream with a 30-06 and he dropped just on the other side.....we dress him out right on the river bank cut him in half and simply rolled him into the boat....once back to shore we loaded the boat onto trailer and parked right under the tree and strung him up for the night right from the boat. We got lucky no need for draggin him miles to a boat....once back home we skinned him and quartered him using a chainsaw with vegtable oil in it...that was slick...at the end of the day 6 guys split 850lbs of moose meat......good score and very delicious when cooked......ive done roast in the slow cooker to roast on the smoker to making jerky....the steaks...very simply done on the grill...and of course the groung whipped up into nice moose burgers grilled on the Q...good times......we leave oct 14th(few weeks) for another round.....cant wait....

the crew loaded and heading home...(im the good lookin one in the middle)

    slicing for jerky....

my youngest and i working on the jerky....
