    Default Teriyaki Night

Its been a while since I grilled some short ribs ribs so today was the day. I need to do these more often they are great.

Went to the store and decided to pick up only one beer. This should do.

Went to my favorite Mexican market and picked up some 5 for a $1 corn and 3 for a $1 green onions.

Marinaded some short ribs in some Soy Vay Teriyaki sauce for about 6 hours and then on the grill.

Made some Normandy style veggies in the wok and finished them in some Teriyaki sauce.

Half of a head of cabbage on the wok and finished it with , you guessed it Teriyaki sauce.

    Plated.
I would love to say this cook went without a hitch but I just finished the Normandy veggies and put the second batch of ribs on the grill and realized somebody was hitting the first pic a little too early and hard and forgot to start the rice. The ribs were still really good but the veggies suffered a little during the reheat.

    Looks great John.

Once again, can you tell me about the scallions? Do you grill and then knot them, or do you knot them somewhere during the cooking?

What I really want to know about is the beer. Tell me more about it. We don't have them here as far as I know.

The onions are just cooked until soft and then I just kind of wrap the green part around towards the white part. Its really a no brainer, no trick to it.

San Diego and I think Denver are test markets for the mini keg, I have been looking for them for a while and finally found a grocery store that carries them. According to the box the beer is suppose to stay fresh for 30 days. The only beer available in the mini keg is Coors Light and Butt Light that I know of too.

I guess 5.7 liters is about the same as 16 12 oz beers.....That might be a 2 or 3 day supply?

It looks like there is a small CO2 cylinder or something on it on the left. Is that the case?

    How does it work?

It does have a CO2 canister on it. You just pull a tab, twist a knob, unlock the lever and your off and running. I Paid $20 for the thing. I think its actually more expensive than buying beer in cans or bottles but I don't hit the bars and don't get to drink draft beer often so its worth the little extra expense to me once in a while.
