Default Any one here used the "spicy" montreal seasoning?

My spices came in from Penzeys for the brisket rub that was suggested in my other thread by Chef Schwantz. So I ran to the local Harps to pick up some Montreal Steak seasoning. All they had was "spicy" Montreal steak seasoning. I went ahead and picked up a small bottle. It is very coarse and has a much more "reddish" color than the original. I'm assuming more red pepper flakes. The ingredient lists are very similar. So, have you all tried it? What's the flavor profile compared to the original?

Novel idea, lol! Just did, tastes pretty much like the original then overloaded with a good amount of red pepper flakes.

I would agree! I might try it on some burgers and see how it works in that application. If I don't like that it'll probably end up in the trash, hehehe!

Be careful with that smoked paprika, you'll catch yourself snorting lines of it off the counter it smells so good.
