Savannahsmoker, this is my first pellet smoker. I really like it so far.
here is a link to my first cook with it.. I was able to smoke the loin and then kick up the heat to bake the jalapeno cornbread.

I was very happy with the results.
here is a more detailed description of the first test..

I can't find my post using the grill feature... I'll post it when I find it. lol

Feel free to ask any questions Savannah, I'm happy to help if I can.

I really like being able to grill at 650 degrees or slow smoke at 180. It also acts as a convection oven and is great for bakiing.

Here's the first test using the grill on the Memphis Pro...
    http://www.theqjoint.com/forum/showt...6077#post86077

It worked great.. I preheated the gril, it took about 10 minutes or so. Then threw the peppers and chicken on.
The unit is so easy to operate. just set the temperature you want and it does the work.
I'm still a wood burner at heart and will never give up my horizontal homemade woodburner, cinderblock pit, underground pit or my drum.. but this thing is great for the days I do not have time to tend a fire.

Now see Jeannie, before you know it you'll be buying Marie Callender's frozen BBQ and sticking it in the oven...or worse yet, the microwave.

Believe it or not, we actually did our ribs in an FEC 100 last weekend.

we screwed 'em up, but we did use it.

I don;t know how it happened, but when I went to check on the ribs about an hour and a half into the cook, they were sitting at 150 on "hold". I don;t know how to make it do that, and nobody really knows what happened, but after having thoroughly dried them out like jerky that way, we had to crank up the temps to be sure they were done in time. They really sucked.
