Default Sizzle Q on a GMG Product Review

I bought this griddle to see how it would work on a Pellet Grill which is a indirect heat source.
I will post all my results on this thread.
As you can see the Box says fits all GAS GRILLS says nothing about any other cooker. Although they do make a round one for Webers. Its on their webpage.

I started out simple as I was grilling some brats, I figured why not try it out with some fried onions? I took the GMG up to 500 Degrees & after a few minutes after temp was reached I splattered some water on the Sizzle Q and it passed. It quickly went PSST

I took a long shot of my GMG Jim Bowie just to give you an idea of how much room this Pellet Grill has.

It did ok with the Onions.

I have a feeling this is going to add a whole new dimension to my outdoor cooking. So far I'll give it

Beautiful morning! 60 ish sunny. Decided to go for some bacon, eggs, & hashbrowns.
It took a bit longer than I expected. But I think added to the problem as I didn't let the Sizzle Q warm up as I should of & the hashbrowns were frozen when I put them on. I put them on first. And I didn't let the pit settle.

Again I had the GMG up to 500 degrees. Took almost 45 min yet well worth the effort. Very good breakfast. hash Browns were a bit chrispy, Just the way I like em!
Ya think I could get an accurate griddle temp if I layed the AW131 on it?
If I remember from YEARS ago from my burger flippin days a griddle temp should be around 375. Am I correct?

Nice breakfast Lou. Tell us about that bread. I feel sure it is not Sunbeam.

As to griddle temps, I think that depends on what you want to do with the griddle. Over easy eggs, prolly around 300, grilled sammies around 325, and a quick sear on a steak, likely more like 450.

I don't think the AW-131 is really designed to read that way. there are probes made to read griddles, they usually have a flat"lug" on the end that you put flat on the griddle.

An infrared gun would also be a good way to check it.

Another beautiful morning in paradise for cooking outdoors.
Put some Maple, Blueberry sausages on the Sizzle Q

    Along with some french toast.

    And here we are!

I left the sausages on nearly a half hr but the French Toast only took a few minutes a side. Another for Sizzle Q on a Pellet grill
Hopefully this afternoon its going to be some garlic Brocolli

My kids love French toast.I sprinkle a little powdered sugar over the top.

Have you ever tried a little orange zest in with it?

    Looks good Lou!
    Glad you are enjoying it!
