    Default Sourdough Bread

It was rainy and gloomy all night and half the day. I decided I'd better make up some sourdough loaves. Started last night with the starter. This morning, I mixed up the dough.

Egg washed and ready for the oven.

Had enough for 2 large loaves and two smaller loaves.

Thanks for checking out my rainy day bread!

Do you keep out some starter "sponge" like the old sourdoughs?

Yes I do, Tim. I started this one back around 1985. I have sent starts of it all over the country. I think there's even some in Oklahoma. I fixed up one of our new members (WALLE) with some starter just over a week ago and he's been making bread, cinnamon bread, rolls and pancakes almost every day. The good thing about sourdough starter, the older it is the better it gets.

Can't beat good sour dough. My starter has been going since 1992 I haven't bought a loaf of bread in... I couldn't tell you the last time.
Be kind to me, it's not my fault I'm a "PORK-A-HOLIC"!!
