I thought about fryin' a turkey for Thanksgiving, but found it hard to justify the price of the oil for something I don't use that much. Besides, I'd never smoked one before so I decided to do that.
While still craving fried bird, a friend hooked me up with some half priced peanut oil that was damaged but not leaking. Bingo!
So I picked up a whole fryer and injected it with Creole butter marinade and coated with Cajun Shake. Let 'er sit in the fridge for several hours. The rest is in the pix.
I had to pass the time some how...

I've done a bunch of cluckers this way. I should be beyond making these mistakes. Oh well a little time in the oven got rid of the pinkies. Then it wasvery tasty!

Nice looking chicken.
I love deep fried turkeys but have not done one in a while. I have a full, never used container of Peanut Oil so I will do one but WHEN I don't know. I have probably done 10 or 12 and they are a real pain to do in my opinion they taste great. Wife loves them and has been hounding me for moths to do one.
