    Default UDS exhaust stack

    should i put the exhaust in the middle or on the edge of the lid

    i have been putting them in the middle

    the drum i have has no opening on the lid
    ill be using 2" pipe
    2 UDS smokers
    250 gallon fuel drum cooker
    weber 22.5
    char-griller w/sfb

    I do not think if makes any difference but if you are going to have to cut a hole, then go for the middle. Not sure how much a draw or draft the 2" exhaust pulls but if it does pull then the center would be a better position. My flat top lid already had the 2" opening as well as the 3/4" one so I had no choice and it seems to draw well.

    I put mine on the outside edge for no other reason than not wanting the condensation from the stack dripping on my purty meat.

    I have one drum with holes around the perimeter ( its a pineapple express)

    I also have another one that I built and I use the bung that came on the lid for it. Both work fine.

    Went with 4 1" exhausts around the preimeter on my UDSs. Works great... Many ways to get the job done.
