    Default Say hi to Duke.

Duke's my 2 burner Ducane, nothin' fancy. He's a cubside special, rescued from an owner who didn't appreciate him. His previous owner used him for a few years, but never cleaned the grease and gunk out. So, when he started having flare-ups and burner problems, he naturally blamed the grill, saying it was "burned out". When he threw Duke out, Dad and I rescued him and gave him a good cleaning and refurb. For all the problems he gave the previous owner, I haven't had a lick of trouble.

Duke at work. Some burgers and dawgs on direct heat with armadillo eggs and ABTs on the side.

He can even turn out some good ribs. One burner on low gives me a temp of 330*, so he's perfect for indirect cooking. These spares took about 2 hours and were very tender and tasty. Not a lot of smoke, but a smoke packet gave 'em a hint of hickory. Big thumbs-up from the crew.

Duke sounds like the kinda guy I'd like to get to know.

Tell us about the armadillo eggs.

Hey Sandman, glad to see others like to smoke on their gas grills. Do all my fish on mine. My Kenmore, with one burner on low, will give me 300*.

That looks good, Rob. It sure seems to have helped you cook those tasting looking ribs. I would also appear that those young 'uns approve!
