Butt Lover's got bit by the Stillwater jinx bug too!

Would everyone here think that two adults would be able to count 6 ribs in a turn in box?

I would have to think so, but guess who only turned in 5 ribs in their box.

I queered our score, but then we kinda sucked anyway.

Buttlover's Mike on the other hand, didn't get their ribs sliced all the way through, and when the judge picked one up, another one came with it causing them to be counted as only having turned in 5 ribs.

They got a 4th place call in brisket. Everyone should congratulate them. If I'm not mistaken, it was only their 2nd comp.

Way to go Mike and Willy! ( inside joke)

They showed better than we did in pretty well everything.

We got an 8th place call in brisket. It's so weird. I thought our brisket sucked, and I am sure that our chicken was the best I have ever eaten. They liked the brisket but panned the chicken. I think I would really be confused if ther judges were KCBS CBJs.

Anyway, of the two teams from The Q Joint, the butt Lovers guys did best.

This is the season warm up. Let's see where we go from here.

4 year old grandson Dylan. He counted to 6 for his Paw Paw today to show him how.

Well Tim, it slowly fades. You never notice it happening.
Then one day ........................... you turn in 5 ribs instead of 6.
Here's a tip: Put 12 ribs in the box. Make sure they are separate. We had 2 boxes yesterday that had 12 in them and they both scored well. Course the fact the ribs were good helped. But a nice FULL box works appearance-wise.

Stillwater is a KCBS comp ,But the judging is done by the elk members.

Maybe not a great showing right out of the gate but ya'll did that last year and turned up the steam after that. Get your shtuff together and start showing them what you guys can really do.

Fun contest. I learned a very big lesson there - do not sleep on backseat bench of your pickup. I pinched my sciatic nerve and ended up in the Hospital last night. The doc said mostly women get Sciatica and it was kind of rare when it happens to men.
I told my wife it must have been the Bud Light Lime I drank all weekend.
