    Default What I did today

I know that most of you would not believe this of the cynical moldy old fart that I am, but here is the story. It was a bright moment in my day.

I had gone to the grocery store to pick up the Okette's VD flowers.

We ahve a system, she gets 1 yellow rose for every twelve years. and then a red one ofr the other years that don't add up to twelve. In other words, 30 years=2 yellow (24 years)+ 6 red ( six years)

At any rate, it was cheapest to just buy a dozen and set out the extra 4 roses.

When I was at the counter picking them up, there was a younger man with a five year old or so daughter. to look at him it was obvious that he was scraping out the change jug just to be able to get flowers for momma.

I turned to him and told him that I had these extra roses and that I thought that his ( just cute as cold be, and very well behaves as well) daughter looked like she needed them. He looked at me in disbelief, asked me if I was sure, and when I assured him that I was, he accepted them. I then told him that I wanted to see her smole when he gave them to her. He asked her if she wanted some flowers too and she eagerly said yes. You could tell that she was only thinking in terms of a couple little posies, and when he handed her the beautiful premium long stemmed red roses, her eyes grew as big as saucers. She took them and held them close as if hugging them.

Coincidentally, while I left out one door, and they continued about their shopping, the two of them ended up walking past the Okiemobile on the way to their car. The little girlwas still clutching them close to her and wearing them like a badge.

Did I do good? It feels like I did.

Sorry if I bored you, it was just a very bright spot in my day, and I thought I'd share it.

I guess now I can go back to being my usual cynical moldy old self????
