    Default Smoked sausage and kraut

A friend of mine stopped by today with a couple big links of his homemade sausage. He makes some really good sausage. This was a peppery beef sausage he had smoked. It was not a hard sausage, it's a beef verison of Polish sausage.

one of the links cut in half

    all sliced up

into a pan to start browning the slices

About half way done, I put in some kraut to cook and brown a little with the sausage.

    sausage and kraut done

served up with some creamy mashed taters with cracked black pepper.

I've never seen so much attention to detail as you put into stuff Jim!

We have a little comfort food thing we do with kraut and smoked sausage, but it never looked that pretty.

We do the sausage and kraut in a crock pot with apple slices, thin sliced onion, brown sugar and cinnamon. I bet our sausage isn;t as good as that either.
