Default Project X get together '08

Just a few pix of today's get together for the presentation of the Project X drum smoker for our tech director.

Weather was ideal, light winds and upper 50"s w/ tons 'o' sun.I fired up Lucille before everybody got here and had the thin blue flowing. Then we put Pigcicles to work whumpin up a little pig candy.

After that, he got interested in the Ninja dust. He put a fair fingerfull on his tongue

He said it didn't bother him, but you look at his eyes afterward and you decide

Here's Joe presenting the drum to Jeremy. Notice Jeremy appearing to display a tad of emotion

And here;s Jeremy holding a stiff upper lip stifling that emotion

Her, my friends is living proof of the phenomenon that if a fire is lit, men wil gravitate toward it, even if they can't see it. The drum is lit, the lid is on, you be the judge

    PC dissecting some snausages

Dang that was a good bite

Food, food everywhere, and the main event is still to come

Here's pigbutt workin' some sausages and such. We were going to get some pix of the pig candy, but it disappeared before the shutter could snap (3# of it)

Yeah, I guess we forgot to wipe down the grate, but it's good black

Last but not least, the product of Jeremy's first cook on his nex IT drum.

I don't think any of us got a good complete set of pix. I also think Cabinetmaker got a few snaps as well and i bet he'll be along to post them before long, but I do think we got enough to document the fact that it did happen. Izzat right Bubba?

    Thanx for lookin folks!

Thanks for sharing the pictures Tim.I think a lot of us take for granted all the hard work that goes into making The Q Joint what it is today.I am glad that Jeremy is getting the recognition he so justly deserves.

Since you pointed out my mistake you had one too:

PC dissecting some snausages ... Spelling and a duplicate picture

Here's a shot of the plate of pig candy. I thought I had one of it in the smoker, but I guess not.

But I did happen to find this receipt on Lucille. I wonder how that got there?

Getting ready to leave someone spied the yard ornaments. What's going on!!!

I think the receipt was for KC Masterpiece BBQ Sauce, and Charcoal Lighter Fluid.

Well from the look on Jeremy's face I think that it meant quite a bit to him.Funny how a BBQ forum can touch so many peoples lives in a positive way.

I am going to have to make some of that Pig Candy

It was great honor To receive the drum! PC did an awesome job on the fabrication
It's always good to know when you are appreciated.

I'm really excited about "IT" and can't wait to cook a bunch of food on "IT". I had errons to run today and already promised the ol' lady I'd take her out tonight.(That means I get some)

None the less while driving around today I had the sweet aroma of the drum in my SUV that I hauled IT home in.

It only made want to fire IT up more.

I don't know if I will ever be able to forgive you guys for desecrating Lucille's beautiful ebony skin with such a piece of smut!
