Due to the top fed air flow, if anything, I have trouble bringing it up to smoking temps. I can't seem to get too much beyond the 125*-250* range in either direction. Having the firebox internal also makes the unit a good deal more fuel efficient, that and the 1/2" steel. Sometimes it takes a while to heat it up, but when it does, the temp holds real steady.

I know he does when he's talking to Jack or pouring martinis, but I don't know about the rest of the time.

I saw him smile right after we downed two shots of frozen Gentleman Jack.

All my cookers are ugly, but they sure turn out some mighty fine Q!

Here is the Big Ugly Pit. It is currently at the welders getting a road worthy trailer put under it...

The reverse flow... Adding stuff to it too...

One of the UDSs. See how I cleared all of the grass around it so it would'nt be a fire hazzard!

Black is beautiful IMHO when it comes to smokers. People that spend time waxing their fancily painted smokers need to spend more time worrying about their food and less time worrying about their smoker. Keep the rust off as much as possible and throw some black high temp paint on it now and then.

They look great to me James.

I read somewhere recently about not envying my neighbor, so I wouldn't dream of mentioning that. But you folks sure have some sweet rigs!

Bud and/or Tonto, I have a question about your rig. I noticed that the stack is on the firebox side? Is that a reverse flow? Also, how do you (or do you) get smoke in the vertical box? And can you regulate the temperatures independantly between the horizontal and vertical chambers?

    Again, very nice all!
