Default Tis the season cocktail for outdoor cooking

I was wanting alil something different using all of this cider that is around these parts right now. Friend let me on to it. We used the VO but some of the others we are going to try. This was awesome sipper while the pit was firing. Enjoy.

    Apple Cider Cocktail

Unpasteurized apple cider, this is so much better than the grocery store stuff.
    VO Canadian blended whiskey or
    Makers Mark or
    Appleton Spiced Rum or

    1.5oz spirits
    5.0oz cider
Mixed over ice in a rocks glass. You can even throw in a slice of apple for garnish.

I don't know what the actual temp is, but it cooks the way I want it to, so I don't guess it really matters.

The first recipe sounds similar to the concoction that I baste myself....erm, my butts with....
Cider and Capt. Morgans in a spray bottle. 1 Spray for the butt, 7 for me....another spray for the butt, 14 for me....you get the picture, I always make extra for the butt.

Me too on the spritzer, apple juice usually with rum 4/1 or so. This weekend I used the cider and I could actually take the apple at the very end of the chew on them ribs, very nice addition!

No one got the beam joke, esp Bubba, WTF??

I have a competion coming up that has a Margarita and a Bloody Mary contest. I was wondering if anyone has a great recipe that will work?I am looking for something from scratch, not out of a bottle. Other than the booze.I have been a bartender at one point in my life but it was always the bottled stuff. I will try all ideas to pass judgement. Then go from there. JT

My cider is already 12% ABV. and Bourbon only needs an ice cube or two in a rocks glass. I never understood the whole mixed drink thing.
Be kind to me, it's not my fault I'm a "PORK-A-HOLIC"!!
