Default My favorite marinades and seasonings

    My favorite Marinades and Seasonings.
Well Lawrys has a Baja Chipolte marinade that we used on a flank steak. Let it marinade over night then grilled it to medium rare. Excellent flavor.
The also have a cuban marinade that a buddy of mine used on a pork roast. Injected it and let it sit over night, then put it on a rotisserie. I tell you this was REAL GOOD!
My favorite Seasonings is Susie Q's, out of Santa Maria. And I just recently ran across this guy . I liked the name of his seasoning. Looks almost just like Susie Q's, but he uses more pepper. I'll give it a try next time I do tri tip.

    I use Pappy's
    http://www.pappyschoice.com/
I just stumbled onto it because they sell it in front of the fish counter at Luckys grocery store. It is a little salty but I just use less and it goes farther.
I have been going down to Avila beach the last couple of years for a couple days vacation.next year I am going to stop in Santa Maria.
I am hoping that they will have a store with all the local products.
When I lived in Gilroy they had a shop like that.It was great.

I use a little Daddy Hinkle's for a quick deal now and again, but mostly, I make my own. My food A.D.D. won't generally allow me to use a bottled marinade without augmenting it, and all in one seasonings are too easy to emulate and adjust to your own preferences. If I am going to use a GP off the shelf rub, it will most likely be Head Country.

Buddy of mine sent me the Prime Rib Rub (great on brisket too) and the Hot Spice Rub.

Anyone want to try these, let me know. I got a few empty containers I can fill, as these are 24oz shakers that will last me years.
