    Default Project X

I came across another barrel and it has became my next project. The name Project X kept coming to mind. So that's what I'll call it until it gets an official name.

My thoughts are that I might include some ideas from the Joint crowd in some of the design and accessories. So from time to time through this project I'll post a question or two and select among them. Might be fun, or at least amusing, to see how it comes out.

So here's the start of the barrel from the raw pictures throught the start of burning out ...

You can't read it in the pic, but it was cranberry concentrate

    The raw barrel

    The project X'd ... now Project X

Here's the barrel started off burning with my junior fire starter helping

Brain Washed ... so the instructions say

X hanging out in the burn area

Looks like the barrel is flexing or camo paint

    Flames A Leaping

    I love a nice fire

See the coals burning through one of the future vent holes

Anyone else see faces in the flames???

More pictures and questions as I have time to work on Project X

When you get finished with Project X maybe you could find an old boat trailer and large barrel for your next project. Don't forget to keep an eye out for some heavy metal to make the central firebox. I happen to know where a pattern is located.

I've got a drum in mind with several ideas from members. Lots of great ideas out there to choose from.

Its a shame to waste such a nice fire by not doing any cooking! Can't wait to see her in action!

Now I really see your intentions, making up to Beula to try to get her to cook your supper and not even inviting her owner.

Looks a little rare for my taste though.
    Have a good weekend.

I have updated the thread with a poll. There are basic areas which include the straight / curved pipe, One or Two pipes, and Size of exhaust. Try to answer once in each section or in the Other category.

The lid for this barrel does not have factory bungs so I will have to install the exhaust.

I hope to be grinding the residue off the barrel and getting it primed up today. And maybe get some of the hardware installed too.
