    Default Grilled Pork Chops & Purple Hull Peas

    Tonight's dinner was a couple bone-in pork chops, apple sauce, and purple hull peas

    Chops seasoned and ready


    Keg heated to 600 using RO lump and pecan wood


    Chops starting to sizzle


    Almost ready


    Chop served with purple hull peas. oops forgot the applesauce in the pic.


    Better look

    Those peas kin to the black eyed variety? Never heard of them.

    Nice!!!. Don't think I have ever had purple hull peas.

    Purple hull peas are in the same family. They tend to be more flavorful and have a creamier texture.
    They do have them in cans, but I buy the dry beans(2lb bag) and make a big batch and vac-pac and freeze some for meals later on.
