Default A Little Gumbo for Dinner

Got hungry for some gumbo. So, I went by the seafood market and picked up so shrimp and scallops for the gumbo.
Not the best pics but you get the idea

    Bacon, scallops, and shrimp

diced trinity(onion, celery, green pepper) & sliced Okra

Frying the chopped bacon in the Dutch oven

Sauteing the trinity in the bacon grease after removing the bacon

Add back in the bacon. Plus water, rice, and spices. turn down heat and simmer

With about 10 minutes to go for the rice to be done. add in the okra, scallops, and shrimp. Cook til done

    Almost done

A bowl of gumbo served with cornbread slathered with butter

    Mmm Mmm Good

    Thanks for lookin'

I had a tech rep from NooOrlins who used to come up to KC for a week now and then to do some training for my people. Our training facility had a kitchen and he would make just killer gumbo for the group.

    Now ya got me jonesin'.
