Help - Chestnut
I have read that Chestnut can be used for smoking. Has anyone here tried it ?
If so, please give me your opinion ASAP.
Thursday or Friday, I have to decide whether or not to cut down a Chestnut tree and whether to keep the wood for smoking or not.

Most any three that bears a fruit or nut can be used for smoking, with the exception of walnut. Throw a small piece on the fire and smell it. Chestnut also makes some beautiful furniture if the pieces are big enough. It produces some of the finest burl available.

Found chestnut here http://www.deejayssmokepit.net/Woods.htm Says has a sweet, nutty smoke and is good with most meats.

Sounds like something you need to try and report back here. Good luck!
