    Default Red Draw

I grew up around a drink known locally as a Red Draw. There is a killer little BBQ join/bar called Bar-L. It has been around for ever. It's a cool little place that lets you pull in like a sonic drive in. Car hops will bring food and cold beer and serve you right in your car. Not only do they have the best spare ribs you will ever eat, but they also serve this awesome drink called a Red-Draw. It is nothing more than a few fingers of tomato juice in a frosty mug, filled the rest of the way with beer. Add salt and it is one of the best things in the world. Goes great with some Que and juke box playing some tunes.

That's been around for many many years. It's not just a Texas thing(I grew up in Southern Illinois) and I can remember my Grandpa and my Dad drank that in the mornings when they had a hangover.

My parents used to drink that with a squeeze of lemon. They just called it beer and tomato juice.

My brother and I started makin' it with Snappy Tom, a spicy tomato juice or spicy V8 and a squeeze of lime.

My favorite variation is what I call a Bloody Beer. Bloody Mary Mixer and beer. Great way to cool down on a hot summer day!
