    Default hi from the uk

    hi all
i am from S.E london and i now live in a village in surrey between guildford and aldershot ,barbecue here in the uk is mainly grilling ,most people here expect burgers ,sausages and some chicken when they get invited to a summer bbq,but with the internet and popularity of tv food shows like diners drive ins and dives, man v food etc, interest has been growing in the low and slow style of barbecue, i myself started smoking with a weber copy kettle, then due to the lack of reasonably priced smoker's i researched and found information about UDS's then trying to find suitable parts available here to build one for myself, black iron pipework is as rare as rocking horse poo!!! here in the uk as we mainly use copper tubing for plumbing and gas pipes ,that was around 3 years ago ,the copy kettle i had rusted out through the base so i used the lid and rack to make this

i love pulled pork, making fatties with different meats and fillings, and chicken with different flavours,i am yet to do a brisket as the prices here makes it almost impossible with our budget, but one day!!
here is a picnic i did on the UDS part of a batch cook i vac packed and froze

over the years i have slowly added to my collection,i have 2 mavericks ,a 732 and a 733 , a 18.5 and a 22.5 inch weber kettles i also made my own pid temp controller with a computer fan, a pid from china,a clip top cereal box and some copper pipe lol lol works well for long cooks!!!

this is a goats cheese and spinach fatty i made with ground pork mixed with chili ,chopped sweet red pepper, and chinese pot sticker dumpling spices and wrapped in bacon !!!

Nice to have another European on board and you sure make some good looking food.
That goat cheese/spinach fatty caught my attention - the wife is lactose intolerant.
