Default Black Iron on the Grill

Why black iron? Works best for makin' blackened fish of course!

This was actually Mrs. Shoots' cook. I just built the fire, heated the iron, cleaned up the mess, etc. She texted me earlier today "we're havin' ruby red trout for dinner...""OK," I replied. "might be good on the grill."

Her reply was "OK blackened on the grill." Yes Dear...

Here are the victims, dredged in melted butter and seasoned.

    Now some cook pics:

    and mine...

Was it good? Yes Dear. Friggin' awesome actually!! Thanks Dear!!

Love that black iron goodness. Got to make a batch of homemade pork 'n beans in my cast iron dutch oven soon as I find a recipe. Don't need to raise blood sugar with those store bought beans full of HFCS and or sugar. Trout used to be found often on my table when I was near the gulf coast and we grilled a lot of them in a previous life.

Ohhh man! I can almost smell that fish when it hits that smokin hot iron. The seasoning roasting up gets ya right there ...

    Thanks Tom, I needed that.
