    Default Backwoods Smoker question

Fired up the new G2 Chubby this weekend and it performed just as advertised...GREAT. However, after the cook was done emptying the water pan is kind of a hassle. When you lift it out it spills quite a bit. Was wondering if I could just put two aluminum 9x13 pans in the water pan and fill those with water. Would be MUCH easier to lift out and dispose of rather than spilling water all over the inside. Any advice??

It's easy. Remove the fuel tray and the heat shield below the water pan. Grab the front edge of the pan with a pair of pliers then reach under the pan and lift with your hand

I have done both of those things. You can actually get a disposable full steam tray in the G2. The other alternative is to get a battery operated pump and pump it out using that. You can pick one up for a few bucks and then you don't have to worry about spilling water all over the place.
