Spent a couple of days in Lockhart last week and did my own BBQ crawl.

    Blacks BBQ
    Smitty's Market
    Kreuz Market

3 checks off my bucket list. Pics shortly.

Brisket was awesome. Sausage was great. They had the biggest beef ribs I have ever seen but didn't get a pic. Pork ribs were great as was all the sides. We'll worth the trip

Smitty's market was next. Again the brisket was awesome. Sausage was great and ribs were great. All served on butcher paper with a plastic knife, bread and crackers. The walls and ceiling in the old dining hall were nearly black from years of smoke.

Kreuz Market Brisket was over cooked and very dry. Sausage was great. Ribs were good. German potatoes were good.

I've been by Krewz, but never went in. I know the other two, especially Black's. Had some great meals there.

Next time you sneak out for a Texas BBQ fix take me with ya ... I'll hide in the luggage and be good.

Totally awesone crawl Donnie. I love the open fire smoke pit. Wish we would've had more time the last time I was that deep in Texas.

Good show brother .. thanks for the tours!

No chickens were harmed in this statement. But it doesn't mean I didn't want to.
