Everyone has different taste buds for BBQ.

I typically prefer sweet with heat.
For my pulled pork rub, I keep it simple.

1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup fresh cracked pepper
1/4 cup paprika
1/4 cup coarse kosher salt
1/8 cup garlic powder

You can make as big a batch you want and keep for months in a tightly sealed mason jar.

I rub a thick amount on pork butt, seran wrap and fridge over nite.

It's got enough flavor that when you smash and mix the butt, it's ready. We butter and toast buns to serve it on.
