Gates is another KC establishment that has paid its dues to KC.
An older guy here at work used to date one of the Gates girls when he was in HS.
Every time we go in we eat for free. She is still nice to him to this day. (Her father
ended the relationship, his full ride basketball scholorship wasnt good enough for the
family name.) They always serve fresh meat. I have never experienced a quality problem
from them. I will say that the sausage can be on the spicy side. So be careful.
If your a fan of a thiner bbq sauce then you will appreciate Gates!

We have used a combination of Gates' sauces for a mop when catering. It has a good balance of vineger and sugar,
doesnt burn as much as it glazes.
The Presidential Platter is a great football party or game night platter.

I've always enjoyed Gates ribs, early in the day, and their spicy BBQ sauce right out of the heated pumps.
