Default What kind of Weber is this?

Hey all... came across this on Craigslist tonight.

Looks like a Weber One Touch Gold to me.

    WEBER BBQ.jpg

I contacted her and I am able to pick it up tomorrow. She's asking $40 and mentioned that it's almost 30" across and 36" tall. My guess that it's a 26.5 Weber One Touch Gold...

Any ideas? For $40, looks like I can't go wrong. I was going to buy one last week on CL, but it was sold before I arrived.

If it's a 26 it's a bargin, if its a 22 I'd offer 30 unless it has barely been used. it looks like a 22 there is no lid holder.

It does appear to be the Gold series. Be prepared to pay the asking price but offer less as Bludawg said. If it is the larger model .. JUMP ON IT! I'm guessin it isn't the Ranch though just by the shape of it in the picture.

Let us know what you find out.

If it's not a gold series, what could it be? I know that Weber has a silver and a gold series. Because of the ash catcher, I assumed gold as the silver does not have one like that.

I also know that she said they have used it twice.

I know for sure that it's not a ranch, as those are MASSIVE!

I also live in Canada, so I am not sure if the models are slightly different north of the 49th...

You are correct on the Gold series. They have the cup style ash catcher vs. the Silver has the plate. Just for reference the 26 in model goes for approx $300 U.S. new. $40 isn't bad for either size grill, but if you can bargain it down a little it sweetens the pot.

Again .. let us know how the deal goes down and what size it actually is.

It's gold, and worth $40 for either size.

Alright, I now own a Weber Kettle grill. However, I am slightly confused...

It looks like a Weber Gold Series Kettle and measures 22.5" and has the ash catcher like the do. Where the confusion lies, is that there is no thermometer in the lid like I thought the Gold Series did...

Not that I would rely on that anyway and use my temperature grate probe, I need to ask did Weber make this style of Kettle without a thermometer?

Anyways, when I got to the lady's house, I talked to her husband. I asked "what is the lowest you would take for it, $20?" He said that since his wife was not there, he would.

Seems like it was a great buy for that... It's far better than my little Smokey Joe or whatever it is... I'll need to play around with it and see how she works.

If I am not happy with it, the grates and lid would work fine for when the time comes when I build my UDS...

Most excellent buy! Congrats to you. I can't solve your confusion tho, maybe they put out a cheaper version. Good grab no matter what.

    Excellent buy

It's a couple year old model OTG grill. OTG's didn't come with built in thermometers until recently.
