    Default Jalapeno Smokehouse Almonds

Picked up a can of Blue Diamond Bold Jalapeno Smokehouse Almonds a couple of weeks ago and was instantly hooked. Several cans later and I can't quit eating them. Had a hand full for breakfast this morning even - and I don't really care for almonds that much!

Noticed they have some with wasabi/soy, will have to grab some of those next.

I figure these have been around awhile, but you'll find I'm always late to the party. Anyone else hooked on 'em?

Not trying to stray too far from almonds, but have you ever smoked your own peanuts (friends do almonds too, but I stick to peanuts).

I get a box of "raw runners" from http://www.texomapeanut.com/inn/ mix in a little light EVOO and then add some pepper flake, smoke them in a basket, stiring occasionally.

    Good stuff.

And the Cajun and Jalepeno roasted peanuts from Texoma are phenominal.

Funny you mention that...........I did some Almonds recently and my wife asked me to do some peanuts next.

How long do you usually smoke them? About the same as almonds?

It takes a couple hours or so.

    Stir them occassionally.

If in the hot spot, keep an eye on them. Some will burn, but some of the "well done" ones are also quite good.

Take a few out after 2-3 hours and see if they are done to your liking.

But beware: the little bastards sneak through the holes in the basket and you'll end up with what appear to be rat droppings after the ones that fall out burn all the way through

Do you sling the smoke at them the whole time, or just the first hour or so?

I leave them in the smoke the entire time.

If it was in my WSM, I'd do it on the top rack.

In the Bandera, towards the top.

Not sure what a Stumps looks like and how it operates
