    Default Crock-II

Like my friend Uncanney, I did pot roast in the slow cooker today. Unlike him I did fewer veggies, cuz Mrs. Shoots don't like 'em.

Here's the victim as is before I went to work on it.

I seasoned with Salt Grass & Spice and browned it in a skillet. While that was goin' on, I sliced an onion and laid it in the bottom of the crock. Added a sprinkle of 7 to that as well.

Then a generous amount of sliced red taters and more 7. Topped that with a generous scoop of minced garlic. Then the browned meat.

Then added water with Better Than Bouillon Beef mixed in. And the water was used to de-glaze the skillet to remove all the browned bits and added to the crock.

After several hours it looked like this:

A couple hours from being done I added 2 cans of field peas with snaps. I could hardly wait for Mrs. Shoots to come home from work!

There was so much delicious liquid in the crock, I decided to make some rice to serve the whole mess over.

    Here's my second serving.

Mmmmm... comfort food. Didn't serve with Cab, like Uncanney. But I'm startin' to think about an after dinner sip...

Very nice indeed. I like the double starch stuff too.
Hard to turn down those HEB shoulders this week.
Weird how we did same meat and method on the same day.
Why in the hell should I have to "Press 1 for English?"
