I rigged up a mini electric smoker in a flower pot. You may have seen this on reruns of Alton Brown's shows. I have use a temperature controller so that I can set it and forget it.

It worked well at the weekend, I put rubbed some ribs, slapped them on the grate, and went off to play with my daughters for 3 hours. Came back and ate, no left overs :-D

My wife still wanted to cook the Sunday brisket her way, but the next one is mine!!
