    Default South African Potjiekos

    Hi Guys

Here in the RSA dutch ovens are commonly known as potjies (pronounced poykeys), flat or three leg cast iron pots. Potjiekos is essentially "potfood" and is truly a South African fav. throughout our rainbow nation. Venison is very popular due to the large amount of non endangered game available. Our most enjoyed dish is Lamb Curry and since it is winter here now our pots are used regularly, it is is always a very social event and we spend almost every weekend sitting around a fire with a pot of curry and a second pot of potbrood "pot bread" Life in Africa is awesome!
