    Default Shagbark Hickory.....

    Anyone here ever use shagbark hichory for smoking, grilling.....if so what do you think about it? If not what kind of hickory suites you best?

    I don't know what link Curt was trying to share, but shagbark is my favorite of all hickories.

    SmokyOkie.....how seasoned does it need to be in order to get the best out of it....6 months?...8 months?

    Shagbark Hickory is the sweetest smelling wood of all the bbq woods.
    I smoke with nothing but at my restaurant!

    Age depends on the cooker your using. I prefer it green as i burn a very hot fire.

    I don't know what the actual temp is, but it cooks the way I want it to, so I don't guess it really matters.
