    You may know this, so ignore as needed: Also keep track of your mileage going to the grocery store and anything where you might pick up supplies. You'd be surprised how much that adds up during tax season. I have a photography business. I am constantly delivering prints in town. This makes the mileage to my day job deductible (way cool, considering the price of gas). Just keep a sturdy spiral bound notebook in the vehicle with you at all times. Some accountants actually want to see odometer readings and not just totals.

    P.S.: everyone knows the white plug type thermapen is the fastest!
