I've read about the Auberins PID controllers for home espresso makers on the coffeegeek forum and have not heard any bad comments for this add-on. When I heard they were selling an ATF system and controllers for Bradley smokers and charcoal cookers I've started watching threads on the bullet site for pros & cons and they seem to be liked by those that have them.

This past summer I cooked a comp and a first time team was cooking on a double barrel (55 gallons) horizontal homemade offset with a fan draft system they built themselves, they are HVAC engineers at a fruit processing plant and really seemed to have their pit dialed in. The controller they were using was the Auberins. I was impressed!

I'm sitting on the fence whether or not to get one with a 25 cfm fan and modding my Bandera with it.

I have 2 of them. I used one at fish camp last
fall and it worked flawlessly on my big steel keg.

We cooked over 40 hours on a half of a 7# bag of lump charcoal.

My buddy Mark bought one for his ugly drum smoker and swears by it.

Awaiting warm weather to get my large big green egg together and try the auber on it too.

From what I've read Josh, they work well.

Looks like it could be easily adapted to a drum smoker. I like the price.
U.S. BBQ Supply will be selling them next week I'd say.

I have this one on my UDS.

I made an adapter for the fan so I could attach it to the 3/4" nipple with a union.

It works GREAT!!! And it is very affordable.

If I had an electric smoker I would have one of those for certain.

I think it would be a gotta have for smoking fish.
