Default Treager BBQ300 enough smoke now

Got a Treager BBQ300 for Christmas. Love it, however, not enough smoke for my taste. I have a sewing machine shop and have several tin accessory boxes laying around which made me think... Took a knife and punched about 20 holes in the hinged lid, put about 2 cups of pellets in it and fired up my grill. Got about 2 hours of good smoke (just about right). 5 hrs @ 150 (-10 degrees outside) 2 hrs @ 175 and 1.5 hrs @ 225. Tender n juicy! I'll try to add some pics

Welcome to The Joint Jess! Glad to hear you got a new smoker and have your issue figured out. You're gonna love the Treager.

Why don't you stop by the C'mon In and Sit Down forum and introduce yourself to everyone.

Enjoy the forum and post pics often .. we really like pics.

    to The Joint!

What is a BBQ 300? I'm not familiar with it. I mean I know Traeger grills, I just don't know that model.

    Thanks Steve!

Jess, I always run at 170 for a couple hours in my FEC because it makes a lot of smoke at that temp and then start cooking.

    Default BBQ300 Traeger

    Thanks guys.
this grill/smoker was a nice Christmas present from my lovely wife! although... it will probably make me fat, haha!
I have grilled on it once or twice a day since i have received it.
i posted some pics in my orig posting. take a look and let me know what you think. the brisket was superb. smoked it for 5 hours at 140, then 2 @ 175, then 1.5 at 200. my little smoke can lasted for a couple of hours on the heat diffuser. I owe it to all the info i got off of this forum. Nothin like listening/learning from the experienced. thanks! Happy New Year to all of you!
