Crab boil with modded fryer, hehehe
My wife and i were at the store today and she thought of having a crab boil. The plan was in action. We scooped up some crawdads, shrimp, crab, potatoes, fresh corn, andouille sausage and we were on our way. Everything turned out great along with the help of a little Zatarains crab boil. Here are the results. Let me know your thoughts and if there is anything else we might add. (we're considering not using the crawfish next time as they are almost more trouble than they are worth, thoughts?)

Looks like a great meal!
Can't think of what you might add. I can't do a boil, though, so I don't have any experience. If you want to skip the crawfish, go for it. Heck, it's your pot, isn't it?

Man! That looks great. I wouldn't kick the crawfish out though, I'd probably add some more. I would maybe throw in some other types of sausages cut up into 1" sections. Heck if you like the crab boil flavor, you might even consider some boneless chicken chunks. The possiblities are endless.
Dannnnggg I'm hungry - Thanks for sharing Greg.

Looks great! Its the wrong season for mudbugs as there shells are too thick. You need them in the early spring just after the molt. Also, if you throw a stick of butter in the pot, the shells come off more easily.

Now Rob... Why can't you do a boil??? I know that you have the equipment and it's not hard to do!
Has anyone ever tried chicken in the boil like PC said? Wonder how that would be?

Make ya a deal. You pay the hospital bills, and I'll do a boil for everyone. (Shellfish allergies are a bear sometimes.)
Never heard of chicken in a boil, but I *have* seen chunks of kielbasa sausage.
