Yesterday the mailman brought me a copy of a magazine titled "Garden and Gun". Is this the most bizarre mag title you've ever heard of or what?

Anybody else ever heard of it? My first reaction was that it was about shooting rabbits in your veggie patch.

Well, Tim. Did you figure out their agenda? Sure seems like a strange title to me, too!

:D:D:D:D

It's got articles about fishing, vacation spots, hunting, but not much about gardening. I'll try to get a snap of the cover and post it.

I used to think a magazine cover I saw at the corner grocer when I was a kid was a little dumb.

I called it the vowel magazine, cuz it only had vowels on it, and thats all I could see, cuz it was in a brown bag except for the title.

I thought, who the hell would buy a magazine called Oh You Eye.

Then, while digging through the back of my dad's office chest of drawers, I found a copy and opened it up.

After seeing what I saw, and the following tent being pitched in my pants, I said:

"Wee"

Do ya suppose if that fella turned around he'd have a garden trowel and a pistol tucked in his belt?

Wish I was there for a couple of months.

I wonder if they found a way to grow ammo?

I don't think that a garden and gun magazine would interest me, but one covering barbecue and guns would be right down my alley.

A .22 cal "CB Long" is great for in town. It makes less noise than a pellet gun.

The title of this magazine brings back thoughts of a fella (truck driver) that used to come into work upon occassion. This man was was a large guy, not fat, but woulda made a decent linebacker.

He was passionate about food. You could see it in his eyes when he spoke of cooking. I remember seeing him having to swallow to finish a sentence cuz he was salivating so much.

Strange thing is he was MORE passionate about firearms. Everything from Civil War or before to modern fully automatics. There was a certain gleam in this ol boys eye that let ya know he LIKED what he did.

I think he would be a great writer for that magazine... wish I knew where he was today (somewhere around Springfield MO) - I'd invite him over to the forum.
