Second comp ever last weekend. Was lucky enough to get a 4th place call in pulled pork, very happy for that. Didn't do so well over all tho but there were some very good teams competing so I am very happy with our efforts. One question I have. How do you guys get the super shinny, all most like a clear coat on you RIBS??? I have not figured that out yet and the ones that know how are keeping a tight lip. Any ideas???

Blues Hog makes ribs shiny and judges happy...just a light mop and a spritz of AJ before boxing.

To go from there to first, think in terms of slices instead of just pulled.

3 parts water, 1 part light Karo syrup of honey misted right before turn in.

If you don't mind modifying your sauce, hone of Karo syrup added to it will help also.

Congradulations! Glad to see your cooker is working well. The sense of pride winning on a cooker you built yourself is an awsome feeling. ENJOY!
