I did this rib roast this afternoon on The Extended Party.. I have a savory roast rub that i use often in the oven, and even on the grill, but had never combined it with smoke. I was curious as to how smoke flavor would marry with the rub, so I thought, why not give it a try.

Here is the suspect:

Then after about an hour at 350 on the Backwoods and sliced:

Then on the plate:

Given the first pic, it is almost hard to believe that it is pork:

this is heritage breed pork. This is the pork I am always talking about remembering from when I was a child...You know, back before pork was white meat.

If you have a place to find heritage breed pork, you should buy it, even at twice the price. If you don't have a supplier, you should seek one out.

I have never enjoyed a cut of prime rib of beef any more than what I enjoyed this pork.

Thanx for looking, hope you enjoyed.

Great looking roast. I thought it was beef until you said it was pork in the thread and then had to do a double take.

I was hooked, thought it was beef all the way to bottom pic. Also thought the sliced and plated pics were a little overcooked by your standards until you told us it was pork. :roflmaoha0::roflmaoha0: Thanks for the :kewlpics:.
